Campmeeting 2011 begins!

Sun. Aug. 7, 2011 - tonight is the first night of campmeeting 2011. Join us at the tabernacle at 7 p.m. EVERYONE is welcome! Services each night this week!




Thur. Aug. 11, 2011 - Youth Night. Kids and youth are invited to join us at 5:30 p.m. for a free hotdog meal (chaperones included). There will be a time of music and special ministry, followed by the regular 7 p.m. service - for kids of all ages.


At Youth Night there will be a prize drawing, which includes the annual handmade Y.A.C. bobblehead giveaway. Be there and sign up for your chance to win! (8 Y.A.C.s and other prizes).

Campmeeting 2011 - Aug. 7 - 14

Campmeeting 2011 will be held nightly at 7 p.m. from Sun. Aug. 7 through Sun. Aug. 14. Our evangelist for 2011 will be Dale Hathorn from Mississippi. Dale is a full-time evangelist in the U.S. and abroad, working through the United Methodist Church and his own Standing Tall Ministries. According to his website: "His heart for God and his passion for the ministry to which he is called are as big as his stature is tall."








Our nightly special music will be provided by the gospel music trio, Revival, based in the Owensboro area. According to their website: "We have an exciting, fresh, dynamic harmony that will be enjoyed by any age!"



This year's Youth Night events are Thur. Aug. 11, beginning at 5:30. A free hot dog supper will be available for youth and kids of all ages and their chaperones. Prizes will also be awarded. A special message by Wes Chancellor of Apollo Heights Baptist Church. There will be a special message and music, also featuring bluegrass youth duo Blackberry Jam, during the youth service, and the regular evening service begins at 7 p.m. with a special youth oriented message, for all.

Mark your calendars - Campmeeting 2011 - Aug. 7-14

Mark your calendars for our August 2011 annual campmeeting. Campmeeting this year will be nightly at 7 p.m., Sunday August 7 through Sunday August 14. All are welcome!

Youth night this year will be Thur. Aug. 11 featuring hot dogs and refreshments for the youth and a special devotion. The worship service that evening, for kids and kids of all ages, will be held at the regular service time of 7 p.m.

Board Meeting Reminder

The next board meeting is scheduled for Sunday January 9 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem UMC. (In case of snow/bad road conditions on the 9th, a bad weather date will be on Sun. January 16th at 2 p.m.).

The following new committees are asked to have a “progress report” ready at the January meeting so further plans and contacts can be made: Youth Celebration Night committee, music committee, and elections committee. Thanks!

Great Campmeeting 2010, planning for 2011!

Thanks to all those who helped make the campmeeting great in 2010. There are too many people to thank them all!

Plans are underway now for next year. Check back here for details as a new campmeeting approaches in August 2011!

The next board meeting is scheduled for Sunday January 9 at 2 p.m. (In case of snow/bad road conditions on the 9th, a bad weather date will be on Sun. January 16th at 2 p.m.). Meeting will be held at Bethlehem UMC, just down the road from the campmeeting on Hwy 1389.

Campmeeting 2010 - August 1 - 8

Campmeeting is taking place nightly, at 7 p.m. from Sun. August 1 to Sun. August 8! Our evangelist is Rev. Steve James (from Gethsemene Baptist Church in Danville, KY, formerly of Macedonia Bapist in Owensboro). Special music each evening is by quartet Perfect Vision.

Yes, it's hot this week, but remember we have paper fans and ice water available (feel free to bring your own too). Wear something cool and comfortable and come join us!

REMAINING SPECIAL EVENTS:
On Youth Celebration Night (Thur. August 5) kids, youth, youth groups, and their chaperones are invited to join us for free food (hot dogs and other goodies), fun, worship, and music (featuring local youth bluegrass/gospel band Chasin' Chickens!) Music and food begins at 5:30 p.m. The regular worship service, for all ages, begins at 7 p.m. that evening.

On Sun. Aug. 8 there will be a morning worship service at 11 a.m., followed by a potluck dinner-on-the-grounds. Perfect Vision will give an afternoon concert at 1:30 and the final service of the campmeeting for 2010 will be at 7 p.m. that night.

Everyone is welcome to attend any and all services and events.

Campmeeting 2010 is almost here

Reminder: Two clean-up/work days are scheduled for 7 a.m. on Sat. July 24 and Sat. July 31. Everyone who wants to help is welcome. Please bring some cleaning supplies or yard-work tools with you.

The Y.A.C. giveaway puppets are ready for Youth Celebration Night. (Begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thur. Aug. 5). The regular worship service begins at 7 p.m. that evening.

The campmeeting clean-up day and board meeting, scheduled for Sat. July 10, have been rescheduled. We will have clean-up days, as usual on the two Saturdays before campmeeting, beginning at 7 a.m. Anyone who wants to help is welcome to come!

Campmeeting 2010

The 2010 Yelvington Annual Campmeeting will be held nightly from Sunday August 1 to Sunday August 8. We hope you will join us for the nightly services at 7 p.m.

Special events will include:
"Motorcycle Run for Christ" on Tue. Aug. 3 (beginning with regular service at 7 p.m.) Everyone - including all area motorcyclists are invited to worship at the campmeeting that evening.

Youth Celebration Night - Thur. Aug. 5. featuring local bluegrass/gospel youth band Chasin' Chickens - beginning at 5 p.m. Food and fun for kids and youth (youth groups are welcome)! Regular service, for all, begins at 7 p.m.

Homecoming Day - Sunday August 8. Morning worship at the campmeeting at 11 a.m. Potluck dinner-on-the-grounds is at Noon. Afternoon concert by Perfect Vision is at 1:30. Evening worship service is at 7 p.m. All are invited to all these events!

The 2010 evangelist is Rev. Steve James. Musicians for 2010 are Perfect Vision, a Southern Gospel Quartet - with us for the first time this year!

Campmeeting 2009

Mark your calendars:
Campmeeting 2009 will be held, nightly, Sun. August 2 through Sun. Aug. 9th.
Services begin each night at 7 p.m.

Special music by Firm Foundation will also be shared each evening.
Our nightly evangelist is Rev. Jake Huffman of Roanoke, Virginia
(Bro. Huffman was formerly the pastor at Corinth Baptist Church in McQuady, KY).
SPECIAL EVENTS IN 2009:

Youth night this year will be on Thur. Aug. 6, beginning at 5:30 and featuring local youth band Chasin' Chickens. Free food, free music, and drawings for prizes!
Kids and youth of all ages are invited for the evening's events!
Regular service for everyone begins at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, August 9th
services will be held throughout the day, beginning at 11 a.m.
