Events begin at 5:30 pm

with a free hot dog picnic, prizes,

and music by Blackberry Jam.

7 pm, worship service for all ages.

All kids and youth (and their chaperones) are welcome!

 

 

Services nightly at 7 pm, August 3-10, 2014.

 

Sunday, Aug. 10:  Services at 11am, potluck meal at noon,

and a concert by Restore at 6:30 pm before the final service of 2014.

Yelvington Annual Campmeeting 2014

Don't forget to mark your calendar for Y.A.C. 2014! The non-denominational revival will take place nightly at 7 p.m. August 3 through August 10. Everyone is welcome! Our musicians from last year, Restore, will return. The evangelist will be Rev. James Wedding of Yellowcreek Baptist Church. We are looking forward to a great time!

Rescheduled board meeting is Sunday, June 29 at 2:30 at Bethlehem UMC.

This year youth night will be on Friday, August 9, featuring Blackberry Jam.  Free food, music, and fun!  Bring some youth/kids and come on out!

 

The concert by Restore (Marc Ray, Jessica Pursley, and Cathy Woodward) will be on the final Sunday evening at 6:30.  See the flyer for other events.

 

Yelvington Campmeeting 2013

This year's campmeeting will be Sunday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 11.  Services are nightly at 7 p.m.

This year's evangelist will be Rev. Dale Hathorn.  Special music nightly by Restore, local gospel trio. 

Services are non-denominational and not affiliated with any church.  Everyone is welcome!  Bring a blanket (to cover the wooden benches) and enjoy worship under the tabernacle.  The beautiful setting adds to the sacredness of this special place!

Youth night will feature free food, prizes and special music by local bluegrass/gospel youth band, Blackberry Jam.  (Night TBA, either Thursday or Friday of campmeeting week).  The evening service at 7 will be for all, with a special youth emphasis.  All kids, youth, and youth groups are invited!

On Sunday, August 11, there will be an 11 a.m. service, followed by potluck-dinner-on-the-grounds at noon.  An evening concert by Restore will be at 6:30, with the final worship service of the week at 7 p.m.

CLEAN UP days - will be the two Saturdays before campmeeting starts (July 27 and Aug. 3) at 6:30 a.m.  Anyone who wants to help is welcome - bring some yardwork equipment, tools, or cleaning supplies and join us!

Campmeeting 2012

Hope you are preparing for campmeeting 2012!  This year's campmeeting will be Sunday, August 5 through Sunday, August 12, nightly at 7 p.m. (possibly starting earlier this year with special music by choirs - more TBA).  This year's evangelist is Bro. Jake Huffman, from Villa Heights Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia.  Special music will be performed nightly by Revival Music Group. 

Everyone is welcome - tell your friends!!

Youth night will be Thursday, August 9, beginning at 5:30.  Local bluegrass band Blackberry Jam will perform, free food will be provided for youth and their chaperones.  Kids and youth of all ages are welcome to this free, fun event!

Feb. 26, 2012 - next board meeting

The next board meeting for Yelvington Annual Campmeeting will be Sunday Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem UMC (just down the road from the campmeeting on Hwy 1389). All board members are invited to help us plan for 2012 and future campmeetings. (Event will be rescheduled if there is bad weather).

Campmeeting 2011 begins!

Sun. Aug. 7, 2011 - tonight is the first night of campmeeting 2011. Join us at the tabernacle at 7 p.m. EVERYONE is welcome! Services each night this week!

Thur. Aug. 11, 2011 - Youth Night. Kids and youth are invited to join us at 5:30 p.m. for a free hotdog meal (chaperones included). There will be a time of music and special ministry, followed by the regular 7 p.m. service - for kids of all ages.

At Youth Night there will be a prize drawing, which includes the annual handmade Y.A.C. bobblehead giveaway. Be there and sign up for your chance to win! (8 Y.A.C.s and other prizes).

Campmeeting 2011 - Aug. 7 - 14

Campmeeting 2011 will be held nightly at 7 p.m. from Sun. Aug. 7 through Sun. Aug. 14. Our evangelist for 2011 will be Dale Hathorn from Mississippi. Dale is a full-time evangelist in the U.S. and abroad, working through the United Methodist Church and his own Standing Tall Ministries. According to his website: "His heart for God and his passion for the ministry to which he is called are as big as his stature is tall."

Our nightly special music will be provided by the gospel music trio, Revival, based in the Owensboro area. According to their website: "We have an exciting, fresh, dynamic harmony that will be enjoyed by any age!"

This year's Youth Night events are Thur. Aug. 11, beginning at 5:30. A free hot dog supper will be available for youth and kids of all ages and their chaperones. Prizes will also be awarded. A special message by Wes Chancellor of Apollo Heights Baptist Church. There will be a special message and music, also featuring bluegrass youth duo Blackberry Jam, during the youth service, and the regular evening service begins at 7 p.m. with a special youth oriented message, for all.

Mark your calendars - Campmeeting 2011 - Aug. 7-14

Mark your calendars for our August 2011 annual campmeeting. Campmeeting this year will be nightly at 7 p.m., Sunday August 7 through Sunday August 14. All are welcome!

Youth night this year will be Thur. Aug. 11 featuring hot dogs and refreshments for the youth and a special devotion. The worship service that evening, for kids and kids of all ages, will be held at the regular service time of 7 p.m.

Board Meeting Reminder

The next board meeting is scheduled for Sunday January 9 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem UMC. (In case of snow/bad road conditions on the 9th, a bad weather date will be on Sun. January 16th at 2 p.m.).

The following new committees are asked to have a “progress report” ready at the January meeting so further plans and contacts can be made: Youth Celebration Night committee, music committee, and elections committee. Thanks!
